Buddha slams Mamata for
Gorkhaland blunder
3 foreign players join United
Sikkim to avoid relegation
Steve, Landa and Pablo roped in for 6 matches
United
Sikkim has roped in three
new players, with a hope to
save the club from possible
relegation from the I-League.
The decision comes when
the club is at relegation zone
with mere 12 points After 8
loss, 8 draws and mere one
victory. All three players are
foreigner and have joined
the club when it has 6
matches to be played.
The Australian midfielder

player of the club other two
includes, John Landa Matkin
from America. Pablo
Rodriguez Aracil, Spain who
have already played for the
club. John has already
played couple of games for
the club and Rodriguez has
appeared in one game.
Steve has been
associated with New South
Wales Premiere League,
Australia and was playing
for Sydney United, also a
winner of second division
player of the year twice.
With mere 12 point and
tabled at relegation zone, the
snow lions have been failing
to acquire desired 3 points
by concluding maximum of
the matches with draw.
“We have been unlucky,
and we have young players
who are inexperienced,
moreover we are far behind
the other teams of the league
and immature as well” said
Head Coach of the club
Nathan Hall. We can’t let
negativity revolve around
us, even though we are not
performing well, only way
out is to be positive and
work hard” adds Hall. When
asked whether he will
continue with the club after
this season Hall said “My
future is not in my hand, God
forbid if we can’t survive in
the League then we will sit
and discuss about the
possibility”.
“I know our fans are
disheartened but if they still
come and support it will mean
a world to us because that will
boost us” said Landa. All three
players have been signed for
this season, whether they will
continue after the season is
not yet confirmed.
Kolkata, Feb 6: Rapping the
Mamata Banerjee-led West
Bengal government for
"mishandling" the Darjeeling
hill issue, former chief
minister Buddhadeb
Bhattacharjee has said that
compromising on the
Gorkhaland matter would
create severe problems.
Bhattacharjee alleged that
the state government had
blundered by inking the
Gorkhaland Territorial
Administration (GTA) pact
without the GJM dropping its
demand.
"It was improper on the
part of the state government
to hold talks with the GJM
by compromising on the
Gorkhaland issue. The final
draft mentions that the pact
is being signed without the
GJM dropping the demand
for Gorkhaland. This is a big
blunder," Bhattacharjee said
in an interview to the Bengali
news channel 24 Ghanta on
Tuesday.
"In contrast, when we
signed the Darjeeling Gorkha
Hill Council deal in 1988, we
saw to it that they drop the
demand for the separate
state. Now they (the Banerjee
government) have done the
diametrically opposite
thing," Buddhadeb said.
"Any direct or indirect
compromise on the
Gorkhaland demand would
not do any good. It is a vital
border area. The issues of the
Dooars (foothills of the Himalayas)
and Terai (the plains
close to the hills) are also
linked
